Microblading is a form of semi-permanent makeup where through a process of manually inserting pigment into the upper layers of the skin - the thickness, shape and desired style of eyebrows can be altered.
The results can generally last up to 2 years but effects will greatly vary from person to person depending on skin type, skin care routine, lifestyle and other factors.
-
The main differences start with the result, although all techniques achieve a natural looking result, nano feathering is the manual tattooing of individual hair strokes; the ‘tattooing’ literally looks like natural hairs.
Nano feathering is much the same principal as traditional microblading but is done via cosmetic tattoo pen, nano is much gentler on the skin then traditional microblading thus making it a more suitable option for a variety of skin types. Clients also report more longevity with pigment retention with this method.
Whereas powder/ombre brows achieve a crisper defined shape to the brow and have a more ‘shaded’ style effect; comparative to a defined makeup brow.
-
Each individual has a unique pain threshold, but most clients report little to no discomfort. It has been described as scratchy and irritating but not painful. After the initial pass a topical aesthetic is applied to help ease any discomfort.
-
Cosmetic tattoo is permanent in the way that there will always be some form of pigment visible beneath the skin, however it is semi-permanent in the sense that the pigment will, overtime, be broken down through the lymphatic system and will visibly fade.
-
It is important to be entirely sure before going ahead with a cosmetic tattoo of any form. Removal methods can be expensive and do not always have a 100% success rate.
Please be aware that tattoo removal is not something that we currently offer.

As a general rule we do not accept clients that have had their brows previously worked on by another artist. We do not offer corrective services.
This is assessed on a case-by-case basis. If you have had your brows done elsewhere and would like to book in please contact us via submission or email prior to booking an appointment.

We have Afterpay available in salon. All after pay sales will incur a surcharge of 8%

The 6-8 week touchup is compulsory as it is the second part to the initial service. This touch up is used to evaluate technique, pigment retention and colour choices.
Following this, touchups will be required to keep your tattoo looking defined and fresh. The frequency of touchups varies greatly from person to person and is dependant on a multitude of factors, such as - skin type, lifestyle, skin regime, medical conditions etc.

Please arrive 5 mins prior to your appointment.
CONSULTATION -Firstly we have a chat about your expectations, concerns and goals for what you are wanting to achieve. We go over your medical consultation and make sure that we have no concerns or contraindications. We then make sure you are happy with your chosen method.
We then take some technical measurements of your brow area.
DRAW UP - after your technical measurements, we map out your new brows. This part of the service is, in some cases the longest part, perfection is our goal. The draw-up is conducted in front of a mirror so that you are able to see the shape being created. Only when you are 100% happy with shape created will we proceed with the service.
TATTOOING - please be aware an initial pass of either microbladed strokes or machine outlining is completed prior to any numbing cream being used. The skin must be broken for the numbing cream to work (numbing cream is specially compounded, you will be given details for how to obtain this prior to your appointment). After the initial pass, numbing cream will be applied to ensure a pain free service. We will then work from brow to brow, simultaneously applying numbing cream as we go. The tattooing itself can take anywhere from 45mins to 2 hours depending on the individual and the chosen method.

Day 1 New brows looking bold but amazing (Day of treatment):
You will be provided with a medical grade healing gel, this will also be applied at the time of your procedure. You may need to blot the area with a saline wipe if you notice any fluid (lymph) rising to the surface of the treatment area. Blot away lymph and re-apply gel.
Day 2-3 Colour will now have oxidised and will appear very dark
Carefully blot the area in the morning and in the evening. It is important to remove dead skin and bacteria. Make sure your hands are clean, and you use sterile water. Do not rub, tug or scrub the brows. After wiping, apply a thin layer of gel. When wiping the brows do not make aggressive movements or manipulate the skin that way. It is highly important to be gentle.
Day 5-7 Brows will have scabbed and will be potentially falling off in some areas
Be careful not to pick at the scabs, this may pull the pigment from the skin and hinder the healing process and final result.
Day 5 -14 Brows may appear patchy and in some cases may look completely gone.
Continue cleaning your face every morning and evening with water and gentle soap. Do not use products that contain acids and exfoliants. Only use antibacterial soap (such as Cetaphil or QV) After you wash your eyebrows, it is time to dry them. Do this by gently tapping with a cotton pad or a soft tissue. Once you clean the eyebrow area, re-apply healing gel.
Day 14 - 28 Brows still appearing patchy
Pigment will be slowly coming back a getting more and more visible as the new skin cells settle and become translucent.
Day 42 - 56 DUE FOR TOUCHUP
Touchup is used to asses pigment choice, colour choice, techniques used, and to even out any patchiness.
In order to get the best results as well as to prevent side-effects, please avoid the following things:
Wearing make-up on the brow area for at least 10 days
Sweating and working out, as well as hot saunas or hot baths for at least a week
Picking, scratching or peeling your eyebrows as you do not want to cause scarring of the area
Being directly exposed to the sun or salon tanning, UV/UVA rays, or chemicals for at least 4 weeks as you do not want to cause a shift in colour or premature fading of colour
Long and hot showers for at least 10 days after the procedure
Face creams containing Retin-A or Glicolic acid, and products other than those recommended (medical grade ointment) on the brow area.
Facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks
Sleeping on your face for the first 10 days. Also, use a clean pillowcase and frequently change.
Performing tasks related to heavy household cleaning (such as garage and basement cleaning) or environments where there is a lot of airborne debris.
